March 7-16, 2011

Day 1: Monday, March 7 – Depart the USA

Depart the US for Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).

Day 2: Tuesday, March 8 - Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

Upon arrival at the Saigon International Airport, you are welcomed by our Vietnamese tour director. Transfer to the hotel and enjoy dinner and a good night's sleep so you will be ready to continue this exciting tour tomorrow.

Day 3: Wednesday, March 9 - Ho Chi Minh City / My Tho / Mekong Delta

After breakfast depart by private motor coach to My Tho, the capital of Tien Giang province, situated in the most beautiful rural area of the Mekong Delta. Cruise on the Tien River and visit Thoi Son Islet. Enjoy the island's tropical fruit orchards and local folk music during lunch. Stop at the Vinh Trang Pagoda on your way back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 4: Thursday, March 10 - Excursion of former US Military Bases

Today, visit Bien Hoa located about 40 miles from Saigon, then continue to Phuoc Vinh and Quan Loi located on National Road 13, near the Cambodian border. After lunch visit the Cu Chi Tunnels and the Ben Duoc Monument. Return to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 5: Friday, March 11 - Ho Chi Minh City / Hue

Enjoy a half day Saigon city tour including a visit to the War Remnant Museum, the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Central Post Office. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Hue. Check in at the hotel and later enjoy a visit of the Old Imperial Citadel (Forbidden City), a vast complex built in the early 19th century.

Day 6: Saturday, March 12 - Hue / Quang Tri / Former DMZ

Depart for Quang Tri and visit the Vinh Moc Tunnels, Khe Sanh Combat Base, and Doc Mieu Base. Follow the Ben Hai River to Cua Tung Beach, and see the Hien Long Bridge. Visit the Truong Son Cemetery, Con Thien Fire Base, Camp Carroll, Dakrong Bridge, and Lang Vay Special Forces Camp. Return to Hue for your overnight stay and dinner.

Day 7: Sunday, March 13 - Hue / Da Nang / Hoi An

After breakfast at the hotel, board your motor coach for Da Nang. Cross the Hai Van Pass, the dividing line between the climate zones of North and South Vietnam. In Da Nang, visit the Cham Museum, and pass China Beach, a famous R&R spot. Continue on to Hoi An with a stop at the Five Marble Mountains. Dinner and overnight stay in Hoi An.

Day 8: Monday, March 14 - Hoi An / Da Nang / Hanoi

This morning enjoy a brief tour of the ancient city of Hoi An. Then journey to Chu Lai, LZ Baldy, and Hill 63 and later transfer to the Da Nang airport for your flight to Hanoi.

Day 9: Tuesday, March 15 - Hanoi / Ho Chi Minh City

Visit Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh's House on Stilts, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Ho Chi Minh Museum, and the Temple of Literature. After lunch, continue on to visit the Museum of Ethnology, Hoan Kiem Lake with Ngoc Son Temple, and the Old Quarter. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Dinner and overnight stay in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 10: Wednesday, March 16 - Ho Chi Minh City / Return to the USA

Early morning transfer to the airport for your flight back to the US.
